Announcing the individual finalists in the Medical English Olympiad!

Huge congratulations to the top 15 contestants in the second round of the individual competition of the Third International English Language Olympiad for Medical and Pharmaceutical Students.

The students sailed through the first linguistic rounds and then produced highly impressive video presentations. Here, all second round contestants produced short videos on the theme, ‘Medicine of the 21st century is not national, it is international’. Videos were marked by an international jury of linguists and teachers, including Bethan and Jo, who head SLC’s Academic dept, SLC teachers Alexia, Annelie and Sian, Head of Medical English, Virginia and Managing Director, Chris. Everyone was taken aback by the high quality of the winning videos – not just the content and production, but the excellent level of English too.

The top 15 all demonstrated an ability to express complex ideas, use advanced vocabulary and grammar, pronounce clearly and communicate effectively.

We’re looking forward to meeting everyone in Moscow for the final!
