SLC is delighted to have been invited to give both a presentation and a workshop at the 2019 AISLi AGM and Conference, marking the 40th anniversary of the association, taking place from 21st to 23rd March 2019 in the historic town of Arezzo in Tuscany.
Founded in 1979, AISLi is an internationally recognised association of English language schools in Italy, providing an inspection and advisory service to member schools following rigorous educational and administrative standards. AISLi also provides ongoing professional development to its members through its AGM, conferences and workshops.
The theme is ‘Critical Thinking for Managing Language Schools in the 21st Century’. Chris Moore, SLC’s Managing Director, has been invited to talk on strategy and lead a workshop on the Business Model Canvas. Chris has previously spoken at other conferences on these themes, drawing on SLC’s experience of becoming the UK’s leading provider of English language training and assessment services to the global healthcare sector.
Developing and implementing a clear, coherent but flexible strategy is an essential tool for any language school working in today’s fast-moving, increasingly competitive market. This is articulated and then supported by the school using a clear business model. Chris worked on the Business Canvas Model – used by companies around the world – as part of an intensive course run by Goldman Sachs and the Said Business School at Oxford University, and has used it since to focus what SLC do and drive the company’s growth.
SLC provides digital study materials and virtual classroom training services. In addition to working with medical universities and healthcare employers, SLC works with English language schools and test centres around the world, who offer branded versions of SLC’s courses to their students and candidates.
