This month SLC attended the Nursing Times Workforce Summit in our capacity as knowledge partner for one of the sponsors, EBEK Language Labs. SLC Director, Peter Rodway, facilitated a round table discussion with stakeholders from across the NHS focusing on sustainable long-term international recruitment.

This is very timely given the release of the NHS Long-term Workforce Plan and the current conversations around the politics of the UK's NET Migration Figures. As well as the roundtable we were also delighted to get a chance to meet friends, colleagues and clients from across the industry including NEU Professionals, NHS Professionals and BSW ICB - all SLC clients for OET training. It was also really good to spend time with our colleagues at OET who were represented on the day by Joanne Bass and Nadia Falou. We would like to congratulate all the very worthy winners at the awards night and thank them for their positive contribution to the NHS workforce.

We were delighted to announce that SLC will be co-hosting the 6th English for Healthcare conference on September 6th and 7th 2024.
The conference is a brilliant opportunity to discover everything that’s happening in the world of medical English – from the impact of AI and learning technologies, to classroom practice, to the latest in learning materials and assessment, including OET.
